We support the UN Universal Declarations of Human Rights, Article 19. "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes the freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any means regardless of frontiers." We also are committed to and sensitive to the rights of privacy and believe that it behooves website publishers to issue privacy statements to help protect the privacy wishes of its participants.

time-warp.org collects aggregate information site-wide, including anonymous site statistics. We log domain names and/or IP addresses through our server and through our software. On certain pages such as the Item Submissions Form in our archives, we give users the option of providing us First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Country, Zip, and Email, on some of our other forms we may also ask for other demographic information, preference and other personal information, and various other kinds of details. This more personal information is not gathered by us without users' knowing and active permission and participation. No one is required to submit information to us unless they want it to appear on our website.

Our opt-out policy is that you may opt out of any use by us of information you have provided to us (and in fact you have to opt in by signing up or submitting voluntarily for any such use to happen in the first place.) Our delete/deactivate policy is the same as our opt-out policy - if you want to be removed from our mailing lists just let us know.

When you surf the Internet, your Internet browser (such as Netscape Navigator® or Microsoft Internet Explorer) automatically transmits some information to time-warp.org every time you access content on this site. Examples of such information include the URL of the Web page you were just on (known as the "Refer"), the IP (or Internet Protocol) address of the computer you are using, or the browser version you are using to access our site.

Some of this information may be collected by time-warp.org and used to help improve our offerings to you. All of the information that is automatically submitted to us by your browser is considered anonymous information. To enable many of the features available within time-warp.org, we may assign "cookies"* to your Internet browser (such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer). A cookie is a small text file that contains a unique identification number stored on your computer. Cookies by themselves cannot be used to find out the identity of any user. This unique identification number automatically identifies your browser - but not you - to our computers whenever you interact with us.

Every Web page that you access that includes advertising or content will have the contents of your cookie reported in our server logs and the logs of our affiliates. But only when you agree to provide Personally Identifiable Information directly, such as through a submission, will we be able to know anything about you other than the random number that our server computers originally assign to your browser.

How this data is used: The majority of the services that are provided for free through time-warp.orgSM are the result of advertising revenues. Our ability to provide new and expanded research content to you is dependent upon our ability to provide venues for our advertising partners that reach specific demographic segments of our customer base. Our advertising partners have the need to reach customers who share common demographic characteristics such as a specific gender or age range.

We match the patterns of usage that our consumers exhibit on the Web site where we serve advertising - to create a statistical model of the demographic characteristics of an otherwise anonymous customer, without ever knowing that anonymous customer's name or any other Personally Identifiable Information about them.

This allows us to target advertising to our customers that is more likely to be for products or additional services they would want, and sell that advertising in the marketplace for a higher price.

We do not use personal data characteristics such as your name, address or phone number to create these statistics about demographics, but rather use primary demographic characteristics such as your age or gender that you provide voluntarily to us.

We also may provide advertisements that support our customers' specific requests for information when applicable. We may, through our partners, develop summary - but not individual - reports for our advertisers. An example of a summary report might be "3,000 people clicked on one of our banners, and of those people, 20% had previously indicated they had an interest in audio equipment." Our advertisers, who make it possible for you to use time-warp.org for free, need this information to determine how effective their advertising investments are. We never tell our advertisers who it was that saw or clicked on their advertisements, unless you have specifically told us it is acceptable to do so. If you enter a sweepstakes or a contest, we'll use the information you supplied to contact you about your win and tell you about your prize. In our effort to provide personalization and opportunities for prizes and services, we may at times ask you to submit information such as your name or email address, or to share your interests and hobbies with us. You never have to answer these questions, and you can decline this exchange of information on any site on the Internet - not just on ours - at any time. However, if you should choose to withhold requested information, we may not be able to provide you with some of the services dependent upon the collection of this information. In every email from our company we will remind you of your option to change your preferences regarding receipt of future email communications. Finally, if we believe that time-warp.org property or an individual's safety or security is at risk, we will disclose this information to proper court or law enforcement agencies. Information Distribution : If you are providing us Personally Identifiable Information, it will only be used by time-warp.org unless you choose to allow third party data sharing. Should you choose to allow us to provide your information to third parties, time-warp.org will share aspects of your information with our valued partners. Other companies that place advertising on our site may collect information about you when you view or click on their advertising or content through the use of cookies (using the same techniques as described above). Due to the way the Internet technically operates, we cannot control this collection of information - but we can control which companies are allowed to place such advertising on our site. As consumer you should contact these advertisers or content providers directly that place information on time-warp.org, if you have any questions about their use of the information they potentially collect.

time-warp.orgTM does not control the information collection and distribution policies on Internet domains other than on time-warp.org. We do, however, encourage our partners to adopt privacy policies similar to this one.

time-warp.orgTM does reserve the right to send emails, and infrequent news messages to our customers to inform them of specific changes that may impact their ability to use the time-warp services, unless you have specifically asked us not to contact you about this information. time-warp.orgTM utilizes secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our databases, and system administrations logs, are password protected. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary, and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our customers.
